Catch up

Here are the posts that I haven't gotten to this month. . .enjoy!

1. Happy Birthday Daddy C. You continue to amaze me.

2. J was the shining star at his Joy School gradution. He knew all the words and all the "moves" to the songs. We all enjoyed his big arm victory march to accept his certificate.

3. After Christmas I was so tired of contantly picking up toys just to have them out again, I decided to put all of their toys in the attic except for the building toys. My hope was to lessen the amount of fighting games and increase creativity. I have to say I think it was successful. J can build the most amazing 3D space ships that I could never have visualized and N builds these great mazes on the lego boards (they remind me of that game Mouse Trap that I used to play when I was a kid) and T, sweet T, loves to destroy them with his constant ball throwing. In such an event we call them granades and they take it as a battle injury. I did tell them we would get all the toys out for summer. Lets just say, I think Thursday was better than Christmas.

4. So this is the farthest I have ever gotten my garden to grow. Something unexplainable always happens . Other than the continual battle against the rolly pollys (aka leeches - who knew?) there haven't been too many other problems. I have noticed the rabbits getting a little closer to my fence now that I have some baby squashes agrowin. C can yo help me fix the chicken wire so they cant get into the back yard?

5. Took the non school kids to the train park a while back, but these pictures crack me up. Every one was happy starting out. I felt T get tense in the tunnel so I snapped a picture of him. When I saw his face, I was curious what J's looked like.
I dont think the tunnel is their favorite part.

Everyone should feel like they are the favorite

Today at church, one of the missionaries started his talk by reading how Nephi was highly favored. "wait a minute" he said, "I thought that parents didnt have favorites. . .parents raise your hand if you have a favorite child . . . kids, raise your hand if you think you are the favorite child. . ." to which N puts down his pen and raises his hand.

fun getaway

we escaped the first weekend of 100 degree weather, and headed for the hills. my kids always come back from outdoor vacations better. less fighting, more imaginative, and tired. this cabin trip held a special treat for us because the creek was full!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

As J's older brother, N, I would like to wish J a happy birthday. He is the best younger brother because:

*he doesn't get mad when we race and he loses

*he likes to do ideas I have and I like when he plays with me

*he even has his own really cool ideas

*its fun to make inventions together, play in the bath together, and talk at night together when we are trying to go to bed

*and I really like when he listens to me when I read him books

I love you J

-N-

We took J out to breakfast for his birthday this morning last minute because he decided that instead of strawberry crepes, that he has been asking for 2 weeks now, he want Mickey mouse pancakes from "that" restaurant. So out we went singing happy birthday in our best Mickey mouse voices. When we finished C took the boys out to the car and the waiter asks me if all three are mine. Mentally I start prepping myself the usually comments: Wow 3 boys, there is a special place in heaven for you . . . which I really am thankful that children allow an easy outlet to talk with random people around me which is something I don't usually do. The conversation, however went a slightly different direction:

Him: are all three yours

Me: yes

Him: Wow they all look so much like you!

Me: Thanks?

Him: Same Father?

Me: Yes

Him: So he (pointing to C going out the door) has fathered all three of these children?

Me: Yes -trying to think of a way out of this conversation and also acknowledging C as my husband said: Ya my husband likes to joke that the kids got all their good looks from their mom, which is why he still has his.

Him: silence

Me: Have a good day

(mission accomplished 1. ended conversation 2. acknowledged that C is my hubby and has been for all three kids 3.publicly insulted myself)
